Horizontal rule

What is Horizontal rule?

Three dashes alone on a line (---), rendered as a horizontal divider between sections of a note.

Why it matters

A quiet visual break — useful for separating a plan from what actually happened, say.

How it works

Keep an empty line above the ---; dashes directly under a line of text turn that line into a heading instead.

Examples

  • `Everything above is the plan.`
  • ` `
  • `---`
  • ` `
  • `Everything below is what happened.`
